Alvito (São Pedro) - Barcelos

Alvito S. Pedro, is a village next to the Barcelos city. A land of rural landscapes, welcoming people, quiet and simple, which still dominates the agriculture, with good wine, corn, fodder, etc.. Our main asset is human. But beyond that, we have some cultural, leisure, and social infrastructures. We have library, media library, toy library, Ethnographic Museum, multisport, outdoor pool (summer).. We also do a small Regional Agricultural Fair on the 1st Saturday of each month.

This village had a good infrastructure development in after April 25, 1974. The origin of the name of Alvito, come from "Alvitus", name, whose patron was St. Peter. Inquiries in 1220 from D. Alfonso II, comes with the designation "Sancto Petro d'Alvito" Land of Nevia.
